Team Snailbot: Attaching Two of the Mechanisms

After all the separate components were finished, we worked on finally putting them together. We decided that the most efficient and safe way would be for one person to put the components together, while the others would be there to answer any questions or help out whenever needed. After Lori dropped off the chassis and I picked up the remaining parts I was ready to attach the two subsystems to each other. I ran into an issue where the screws that previously connected the standoffs to the plates and c-channels were not long enough, so we decided to replace the standoffs with a few rails. While replacing them I also adjusted the length slightly to make sure the ball was able to fit comfortably. Because the width of the vertical intake was slightly smaller than the inside width of the chassis, I used a few spacers when attaching the C-channels to the chassis. I finished by screwing the back plates to the chassis with an extra C-channel for support.

We also modified the front rollers a bit. Because we didn't add tread on until recently, we realized that the mechanism was too thin and was hitting the tread. To fix this we added a few spacers in preparation for attaching it to the robot, which will be our next step.

Team Scissor Lift: First Week of Building

This week, I started building the scissor lift! I began by organizing my parts in order to keep track of my components, since without access to our robotics lab or toolkits, each part is harder to rep
